My Boyfriend and I have been wanting to try this place since they opened one near my work. OMG!!! I love it ;) They have funky names for their burgers, but they are soooo heavenly delicious...My BF ordered the Mediterranean Marvel which had a lamb patty and I ordered the Truffle Love that had loads of bacon. WE want to go back like very month and try the other burgers. They also have an awesome Happy Hour menu and I have got to try the boozy shakes. Looking at this picture is making my mouth water all over again.

Lush Grand Opening Party @ Southcenter Mall, WA

Hello Cupcakes! As you know, the Seattle snowstorm was pretty cray last week and my boyfriend Chad was going cray staying at home. We were finally able to drive to the mall yesterday and I had remembered that I RSVP'd to my local Lush store's Grand Opening party. We got to the mall at 12:30pm and Lush wasn't opening until 1, so I waited in line for about 25mins. Not so bad. While waiting, they gave us some sparkling apple cider in fancy champagne glasses and checked our names off the list. They also had some super cute cupcakes once you get into the store. A DJ was spinning some good 'ol Michael Jackson when we first got there.
The first 100 people in line received a 3.3 fl. oz shower gel called "B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful". It's a Retro product and it is not currently on the Lush USA website, but I think it randomly shows up in stores and online from time to time. If you love the smell of honey, then this is the product for you. I LOVE HONEY! This goody has about 5 different kinds of honey. I really hope they start selling this again, because it just smells soooo deliciously amazing!

They also had some promotions where you spend a certain amount and get a free gift or get the chance to enter a giveaway. It was a fun day ;) I really suggest you get on the Lush mailing list! It is the best way to find out about your local Lush events and promotions. It doesn't hurt that you get free stuff, too!

Woke up to about 4 inches of snow and still counting. Beautiful. Here's the view from my bus stop to work. I'm pretty lucky that the first bus I take to get to this station is only 1 minute away from my apartment door! Yup, the Northwest snow storm is definitely here.

Hi lovelies! I know it's been way too long. Here's my pic of the day. I upgraded my phone to the Samsung Galaxy S2 and I am absolutely in love with this "mini tablet" of a phone. My favorite FREE camera app is the Pudding Camera. It has different camera lenses and filters to choose from. I used the Fantasy lens with a vintage brown filter and I love how the picture came out.

MAC Bloggers' Obsessions Mini Haul

I really loved the idea of MAC reaching out to bloggers to help create a little collection. I do wish there were blushes in this collection, but I kind of had the feeling they were rushing this collection to be launched so no blushes or lipsticks. I didn't go crazy and buy every single item, but I am super happy with my purchase. I ordered Hocus Pocus (Sold Out) and Jealousy Wakes (Sold Out) eyeshadows and Sonoran Rain Lipglass.

Moving In...

Hey Dolls! Sorry that it's been a while since my last post. I've been busy moving into my new apartment with my boyfriend of 6 years, Chad. Our kitchen is fully furnished, we have internet & cable set-up, and we are getting our sectional couch on Sunday. This is such an exciting and huge step in our relationship. We have lived an hour away from each other for the past 6 years and now we're finally living under one roof ;)

Oh, and this Saturday is the Seattle Meet & Greet with Itsjudytime! For those of you who don't know, Judy, Benji and I have known each other since high school. It's always fun to know that I know someone famous! I'm so excited to meet new people and see the ones who attended our last meet & greet last year. This is going to be huge because the restaurant we are hosting it at is closed while we have our get together. We're expecting about 40+ people to attend and we really want to fill up the place!

So that is my quick update of how things are going with me. What have you been up to?

MAC Surf Baby Haul & Swatches

Hi Dolls! It's been requested that I post what I bought from the MAC Surf Baby collection and swatches immediately. So here is your eye candy for the day ;)

The Skinsheen Bronzer stick in Tan Tint is described as a soft suntan bronze. It has a matte/satin finish, which is nice because I prefer no shimmer in my bronzer. Tan Tint is the "lightest" bronzer of the three that came in this collection and is more suitable for light to medium dark skintones. Do not just run the stick across your cheeks! A little goes a long way and is best applied with fingers, lightly dabbing on your cheeks, with a sponge applicator or a stippling brush, like the 188. I would apply this after foundation, but before powder. You do have to work quickly because it can also set/dry quickly. A lot of bloggers say this is similar to MAC's Weekend cream bronzer that came out last summer 2010 with the To The Beach collection.

Gilded White Powerpoint pencil is described as a warm white gold, with a metallic sheen. It does have a hint of yellow. The product itself has a soft texture and glides on smoothly on the lash line or waterline. Powerpoint pencils in general are long lasting, waterproof and won't smudge or budge once its dry.

Hibiscus Lipstick is a must-have from the collection! It's described as a bright orange coral and is a cremesheen. Cremesheens are one of my favorite finishes, next to amplified! This color screams summer and is a very wearable coral. It's not as bright and opaque like Toxic Tale and is definitely more of a darker coral than Ever Hip. If you could only get one lipstick from this collection, Hibiscus is the one to get!

Another must-have from Surf Baby is My Paradise Cheek Colour. It is described as a peach pressed powder with a gold hibiscus overspray/overlay. This can be a bit powdery, so I suggest using a MAC 168 or any angled blush brush for application. It's definitely more orange than NARS Orgasm and has more gold shimmer compared to Benefit's Coralista. Marine Life from the To The Beach Collection is a little more darker, less orange and less shimmery than My Paradise. The gold overspray will last quite a while since it's raised and has a thicker layer than Marine Life. Overall, this is a really pretty shade ;)

I picked up three of the five eyeshadows. All the shadows apply smoothly with great color payoff!
Sun Blonde is described as a dirty yellow gold with a Frost finish. It's looks more like a satin, than a frost. I don't have any color like this in my eyeshadow collection, so I just had to get it. I like how it's not a super bright yellow and is definitely a more wearable yellow compared to the ones in the permanent line.
Saffron is described as a deep coral caramel with a Satin Finish. I would describe it more like a reddish orange. This is a repromote from the Mickey Contractor collection. I didn't get this one last time because I wanted to see it in person and none of my MAC stores were carrying the collection in stores.
Surf USA is described as a vibrant teal with a Frost Finish. It's not too frosty. It's not a very unique color, but I'm a sucker for teal eyeshadows. Based on swatches online, it is very similar to Gulf Stream, which I don't have. Make sure to check your stash!

MAC Surf Baby Unveiling Event Photos!!!

Hi lovelies! As you know in my previous post, I attended the MAC Surf Baby Unveiling party last night with my fellow beauty blogger Linda and met with the beautiful & talented Jess and her friend who has the cutest babies on earth Jackie! We all had so much fun laughing and eating! Can't wait to hang out with you lovelies again :) There were hott men serving margaritas and bite-sized food such as choco churros, taquitos with avocado sauce, mini burgers and pineapples on a stick, just to name a few. You could get shirts airbrushed at the little surf shack they had in the store, too. I also ran into a few friends I haven't seen in forever! I will be posting product swatches and a detailed haul sometime next week when the collection actually comes out because I think I might have to get a few more items! Overall, this was a great experience and I hope to attend more events like these, not only with MAC, but with other companies as well. Enjoy!

MAC Surf Baby Unveiling!

Linda and I got together like 3 weeks ago and went into our local MAC store. The MAC artist told us that they are having an unveiling party for Surf Baby and you just know we had to sign up! I've never been to an unveiling before because we live in Seattle, and these kinds of parties rarely happen.

The unveiling party at MAC is on Tuesday, May 17th at 7-9pm. They'll have cocktails and canapes sponsored by Jose Cuervo! Heyyy! They'll also have a surf shack where you can stencil on t-shirts or anything you bring that you can decorate on. So excited! I will definitely take loads of pictures for you lovelies :)

I also can't wait to meet the gorgeous Jess! I love her blog and she mentioned she'll be at this event so hollerrr! So what's on my little list of Surf Baby goodies? Yes! It's my 26th birthday ;) I really don't have anything special planned for today, but I am going to the Ulta VIP preview event after work. Afterwards, I have follow up class for RCIA and that should be fun since it's a potluck.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Review

I bought these babies at Ulta when they were having 40% off NYX, Maybelline, Almay and Revlon. I absolutely love these! They have a creamy, mousse texture and dries matte. They're light weight and does not dry out my lips. It has a doe foot applicator with a soft vanilla cupcake scent. The wear is about 3-4 hours, but it does come off when you eat. They are considered lip glosses, but I think they're more like liquid lipsticks since they are very opaque and not glossy at all. The 2 colors I got were Addis Ababa, a bright pink, and Amsterdam, a tomato red. They come in 11 different shades, all ranging from nudes to brights to bolds. Coupons & FREE Samples are My Best Friend ;)

Who doesn't like coupons?! I love them!!! They help me save some serious $$$ when it comes to shopping for drugstore cosmetics, especially when you use these babies at Wal Mart! In these tough economic times, we can't always afford full price and any type of savings helps. I encourage all of you to actually look through the "junk mail" or newspapers and find the Red Plum coupon book and the P&G saver, since that is where I get all of my beauty saving coupons. You never know what you'll find!

April 9th 2011 Shenanigans with Linda & Lush ;)

So last weekend was my wonderful 3 day weekend I get to have at least once a month ;) I started it with a RCIA church retreat Saturday morning then headed to Bellevue Square to meet up with Miss Linda for the Lush Pinata Party. It was super fun! I had to dive in the pool of people to get some goodies and I was lucky enough to grab a Butterfly bath bomb and a Hollywood bubble bar for Linda. Then we headed of to happy hour at Palomino because it's happy hour there 24/7! Love their mushroom, ham and goat cheese flat bread! I was rockin' MAC Candy Yum Yum lipstick and every other person complimented me. Linda was lucky enough to snag on of the 2 left at Nordies!

Here are the goodies I got from Lush:

Butterfly Bath Bomb is what I got from the pinata. It's a bright pink ball and smaller than most bath bombs. It smells so good. It's kinda fruity and floral at the same time. I think it's a discontinued item because I can't find it on the website. But this is what I found from another blog: "The formula itself contains a rich blend of jasmine flowers, cornflower petals, larkspur flowers, everlasting flower absolute, ylang ylang oil, sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, and fabric butterflies. The flowers and ylang ylang oil soothe and hydrate your skin. Dragon's Egg is a sherbet delight. Smells just like fruity rainbow sherbet. I can't wait to try this ;)

Candy Fluff is Lush's Easter offering and smells like bubblegum, similar to Snow Fairy. I love the smell of this! It's shaped like an egg and yes, it's pink!

After happy hour, we headed to Macy's because I've been wanting to try Clinique's bottom lash mascara. Luckily, it was Clinique's Bonus Time! So I picked up the mascara and the Cream shaper for eyes in Black Diamond. So pretty with shimmer. It's really creamy and water and transfer resistant which is a huge plus. You had to spend $21.50 and these are the wonderful goodies you get:

1. Take the Day Off makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes & Lips 1.7 fl. oz.

2. Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion 1 fl. oz.

3. Clinique Colour Palette with a Colour Surge Eyeshadow duo and Soft-Pressed powder blusher. I picked Rosewine & Pink Blush. The other option had a purple eyeshadow duo.

4. Lash doubling mascara in black .14 oz

5. Pretty Lips Colour & Gloss Duo in Think Bronze and Air Kiss. The other bag had a more plummy color duo.

6. A floral cosmetic bag and a mini cosmetic bag which is super cute!

Sunday was a family day....

Monday, hung out with Linda again and my cousin at University Village. Went to Sephora and the MAC store. I just bought my Studio Sculpt concealer, cleansing wipes, brush cleanser and the On the Hunt liquid liner, I've been wanting to try this. We had happy hour at Sonrisa and then I had to head to my boyfriend's place to take care of him. He was sick that day ;(

MAC Giggly Blush & Candy Yum Yum Lipstick plus dupes...

The MAC Quite Cute collection came out on April 7th and since I am a PRO member, I was able to order my goodies a week before it launched. After seeing swatches online, I decided I only wanted to get Giggly mineralize blush and Candy Yum Yum lipstick because I am a sucker for neon bright colors! Giggly is still available online. Unfortunately, Candy Yum Yum is sold out online, BUT call your nearest MAC stores or counters to see if they still have it! Miss Linda was able to snag one of the last 2 at the Nordstrom's we were at. It was meant to be ;)

MAC Giggly Blush

This is a pinky-plum kinda blush. The texture is powdery and sheer when applied. You can easily build it up by adding more, but I wasn't really impressed with this. It is cute to look at though. Overall, I would have skipped buying this and the other blushes.

MAC Candy Yum Yum Lipstick

I absolutely love this lipstick! I wore this to the Lush Pinata party and when I walked around the mall, everyone other person working at the stores would compliment on my lipstick. I paired it with True Babe lipgloss because I like glossier looking lips. This lipstick is a matte finish and is very opaque. Just make sure your lips are well exfoliated before applying this.

Possible Candy Yum Yum dupes...

I swatched some of the pink lipsticks I had to compare with Candy Yum Yum and I only found a close dupe which was Pink Nouveau. Candy Yum Yum is just a brighter, bluer version of Pink Nouveau. Show Orchid kind of looked closer in person, just a darker, redder version of Candy Yum Yum. Strayin' from MAC's Hello Kitty collection is not a dupe at all. It's tone and shimmer make it different.

Overall, I love Candy Yum Yum lipstick! Definitely check your local MAC for this lipstick. I would have skipped on purchasing Giggly blush, but I just had to have at least one blush from the collection since I love blush. and the cute little heart in the middle. The collection had a nice selection of products, but the color payoff of some of the items were a huge miss for me. I'm not a fan of lip plumpers either, so I didn't even think twice of purchasing any of the plushglasses. The other lipsticks were just ok. I'm thinking Playing Koi was another popular item, but it was just so dupable and I have so many nude peachy lipsticks that I haven't even used in a while. This collection does have something for everybody and I suggest swatching and trying on the items before purchasing.

Lush Donkey Oaty Party!!!

If you've been a YouTube subscriber of mine for a while, then you know how much I adore Lush Cosmetics. I've recently become a newsletter subscriber and I am so glad I did! You don't get spam e-mails at all. They send e-mails out at least once a month to let you know about upcoming Lush parties in your area and new products. This is how I found out about my local Lush having an anniversary party and I was able to pick up The Comforter body lotion which was only sold during their anniversary.

My Current Skincare Products

After posting my Skincare video on YouTube like 4 months ago, I've been asked if it's changed since then. It has, because I added a few new products since I have become addicted to Lush cosmetics LOL. So here's what I use:

I have been using my Clarisonic brush since December of 2008 and it's still in great condition! I only change the brush head every 3-4 months. It's a great investment and will last you a really long time. You can use this with any cleanser and it gets rid of makeup, dirt and oil that your hands would not be able to clean off while cleansing. I suggest using this only 2-3 times a week though. If you use this everyday, your skin can become raw and too sensitive. Clarisonic has come out with variations of this product since the original release. My boyfriend got me this for Christmas and he purchased it at Nordstroms.

I normally use Cetaphil daily moisturizer, but I noticed that when the weather is getting "warmer", my skin tends to get oilier. I had a coupon for Lush one day and decided to try out their skin products. Lush Vanishing Cream is what the sales associate recommended based on my skin concerns and it has helped with oil control. It has a matte feel when applied after cleansing and keeps my cheeks moisturized. You don't need to apply much, a little goes a long way. It has a faint lavender scent and I like it. The only thing I don't like is the price, $37.50! So far, this is a so-so product for me.

Lush Dark Angels cleanser has got to be my favorite, for the use of exfoliating. It smells like black licorice, which I don't mind, but I love the feel of this. The sugar in this is fine and not at all abrasive. This cleanser is used to control oil and blackheads. I use this every other 3 days at night time. My skin feels absolutely smooth after rinsing, and I feel that I don't need to put moisturizer afterwards because it's not at all drying.

Lush Herbalism cleanser is for use on Oily and Acne prone skin. I've been using this more recently and it's been ok so far. I'm not a fan of the smell and I can't really describe it either. But I have noticed my skin clearing up a little bit since using this. It isn't really exfoliating, but when you apply it, it feels a little pasty and gritty at the same time, like floam. Just like the Dark Angels, it does leave your skin moisturized enough that you wouldn't have to use a moisturizer afterwards. I use this as a night time cleanser as well if I'm not using Dark Angels.

I still use my Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser! I especially use this with my Clarisonic and in the AM. It has a nice cooling effect when applied, but it can be a bit drying so a moisturizer is a must after use. This was highly recommended by my dermatologist and it has helped with the reduction of my blemishes. I've been using this product since September 2008. This can be found at any drugstore for about $6.

July - Early August HAUL!

Just a few things I picked up late July and early August. I will do reviews on them soon. I can't use all these products all at the same time LOL :)

Went to a grand opening of Mastercuts and they were offering 20% off all hair products! I couldn't resist. I purchased Matrix Sleek Shampoo & Conditioner duo for $26. I also picked up Paul Mitchell Extra Body Daily Boost & Thicken Up styling products. I've tried the Daily Boost and I absolutely love it! It really does give my hair the volume my short hair needs ;)

I went to The Body Shop and purchased their new line of Tea Tree products since they were on sale 2 for $18. I picked up the Tree Tea Blackhead Exfoliating Wash, Tea Tree Belmish Fade Night Lotion, Tea Tree Oil, & the Tee Tree Gel for on the go application. I have a few scars from previous pimples and some discoloration, so I hope this stuff will at least lessen the visibility of these unwanted blemishes. MAC Love that Look: I purchased the five eyeshadows I mentioned earlier on my first post. I love the pigmentation so far and they are very blendable. I don't use them all at once. I like to mix my frosty shadow with some satin or matte finishes. Never all frost! I really like the Starflash finish and I'm hoping they keep Smoke & Diamonds as a permanent! Like I said, Smoke & Diamonds is my #1 Eyeshadow of all time!
